Klyde's Creatives was born from the life and legacy of Klyde Broox — a Jamaican-born poet, activist, and truth-teller who believed that art wasn't just expression. It was power. It was healing. It was how we build the world we actually want to live in.

We exist for the artists, the dreamers, the builders who know something better is possible — and are willing to create it. Our mission is simple: give artists the resources, the community, and the platform they need to turn their vision into reality. Because when artists are supported, culture shifts. Klyde Broox

June 29th, 1957 - January 21st, 2024

Klyde Broox was a Jamaican-born poet, activist, and truth-teller whose art was rooted in authenticity, justice, and collective care. His journey from privilege to profound social awareness led him to live on the streets for three months — not as a statement, but as a commitment to truly understand the people he fought for.

He championed mental health, racial justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and Indigenous liberation. He believed art wasn't decoration — it was medicine. It was resistance. It was how we heal each other.

"Heaven is a state of mind" — drawn from his own poetry — wasn't just a slogan. It was his life's philosophy. That paradise isn't a destination. It's what we build when we show up for each other with compassion and courage.

Klyde's Creatives carries that forward. Every product, every event, every word we publish is part of keeping that vision alive.

Our Founders Story

Klyde's began with grief.

After losing her father — a revolutionary in spirit and action — Toya Broox turned to fashion as a way to cope. Dressing up became her silent message to the world: I'm okay. And over time, pretending turned into becoming. Through style, she found strength. Through art, she found healing.

That journey led her back to her old passions — philosophy, creativity, and questioning everything. The more she searched, the more the ground beneath her beliefs began to shift. Old certainties became deeper curiosities. Religious frameworks unraveled. And with that unraveling came a profound question:

If heaven and hell aren't destinations — where is my father now?

What she found was this: reality responds to consciousness. Energy responds to intention. We are more connected than we know — and what we focus on, we create.

While the world tells you to manifest a new car, a new job, a new life — Klyde's is here to ask something different:

What if we manifest collaboration?
What if we manifest community?
What if we manifest heaven on Earth?
